My very first full colour animal blackwork embroidery!

This bunny is so sweet and came out looking like a children’s book illustration, not exactly what I was aiming for but I love how it’s looking so far. Sometimes it’s hard to know how a design will turn out so it’s best to just trust the process

Bluebell The Badger

You might recognise Bluebell from her cross stitch design and now she’s getting a thread painting makeover!

This design will be mainly long and short stitch with a few other stitches thrown in to create those teeny tiny bluebells. This design will be written up with beginner stitchers in mind with step by step images throughout

Bluebell is in on track to be finished July 2024

The Ribbons Collection

The Ribbons Collection has been feeding my structure and pattern hungry brain in the best way!

I can’t say when I’ll finish stitching these designs. I suspect they will be a project I dip in and out of around other deadlines for a while as theres just so much to stitch!

Mandala Mania

This design, started took a little under 2 months and was lots of fun to complete! The outlines are complex so this pattern it more suited for stitchers who already have a little experience of counted embroidery. Once you get to the fill patterns though, it becomes a super relaxing and easy stitch!

The gold sulky metallic Gutermann thread stitches up so smoothly with no tangles, tears or frays - I honestly cannot recommend it enough!

Honeybee

This design is such a fun stitch, completing those hexagons one by one is so very satisfying!

The gold sulky metallic Gutermann thread stitches up so smoothly with no tangles, tears or frays - I honestly cannot recommend it enough!

Sunflower Delight

The time crunch to finish this design before taking a short holiday was a little intense but I got there! I stitched this sunflower teal by petal working around in a circle and it was so satisfying watching it progress

I’d almost forgotten how much I enjoyed stitching colourful blackwork designs, as the last 4 or 5 have all been in a more traditional pallet. These bright sunny threads were a joy to work with!
